What is Primal Burn? - Part I

My Primal Burn Introduction
I am not the type of person who jumps on every diet and weight loss fad or questionable program that I come across. First of all, I'm just not that gullible, and secondly I'm a born skeptic. It took months of research before I even started trying Paleo, and that was only after I fully understood that it was a lifestyle change and a way of eating foods that just make sense physiologically.
What I did not fully understand was the exact role that fitness plays in the Paleo diet. I knew that I needed to exercise and I did. As I mention in my About Me, I am a cyclist and I ride a lot. In June I ran a 60 mile road race and a week later followed that with a 40 mile mountain bike race. I considered myself fit. I had legs that could spin a crankset for hours. I had a butt that could endure miles on a bicycle seat, but... I still had a gut.
I am not a fan of the gym. And unlike many in the Paleo scene, I do not have interest in Crossfit. I completely appreciate what they do, their level of commitment and fitness, but Crossfit just isn't for me. I personally can't get excited about it and frankly I am too damn busy to make that kind of time commitment to something I don't enjoy. I love being outside and riding, so I make time for it. Flipping tractor tires in a stinky gym isn't for me.
I was fit but not the right kind of fit. I had pure cardiovascular fitness. My lungs could process air like nobody's business and I had a resting heart rate that was barely measurable, but I couldn't do more than one or two pull ups. My legs were developed and my core strength was just enough to stabilize myself while cranking.
The missing part of the equation was muscle building. This is what the Crossfitters get, that I didn't. But I had no interest in Crossfit. This is where Primal Burn comes in.

Unbelievable. Again, I am not one to jump on any diet bandwagon. I have been blogging about the Paleo diet for over a year and this is the first time I have ever endorsed a diet program of any type.
